The Strataprobe is a hydraulically driven direct push boring and sampling system. Millennium Environmental's sampling rig consists of a Strataprobe unit mounted on a Ford 350 four-wheel drive diesel truck. Although our Strataprobe rig can effectively and efficiently perform general direct push sampling, we have customized our Strataprobe rig to perform to its strengths, which include soil gas installations and angle boring sampling.
The primary benefit in utilizing the Strataprobe for soil gas sampling and angle boring sampling is its design. Millennium's Strataprobe utilizes a 90 pound drive hammer and provides 32,000 lbs of pull out force. Its open top design allows for greater angle capabilities than its Geoprobe PC111 counterparts. We can drill borings to an angle up to 40 degrees. For soil gas well installations the compact design allows the operator arm's reach access to all tooling, supplies, and materials. In one instance, we've installed 42 shallow wells in under 5 hours!
